VeganLens scans product barcodes and queries public databases to show ingredients, additives, allergens, nutrition information, and an indicative assessment of whether a product is suitable for a vegan diet.

Allow camera access and point the camera at an EAN or UPC barcode. You can also enter the barcode manually. The app queries the available databases and displays the information it finds.
It means that none of the databases queried provides enough vegan information to show a result. It does not mean that the product is vegan or non-vegan. Always check the official product label.
When Open Food Facts does not provide a vegan analysis, VeganLens can inspect the ingredient list locally. This result is indicative: not detecting animal-derived ingredients does not confirm that a product is vegan. Check the label and any traces or certifications.
From the contribution screen, you can fill in product data, recognize ingredients with OCR, and add photos, then explicitly start the submission. You do not need to sign in to the app. Contributions are sent to the database you select; do not include personal information in text fields or photos.
The app keeps a bounded local cache of queried products and can show those data later while offline. Products that are not cached cannot be queried until the connection is restored. Contributions require a connection to be submitted.
The interface and product features are available in Spanish, English, German, French, Italian, and Portuguese, depending on the language configured on the device.
The app includes a color-blind-friendly palette, a high-legibility font, and configurable text sizes. It also provides accessibility labels and text for interface actions and information.
VeganLens includes no analytics, advertising, or tracking. Ingredient analysis and OCR recognition run on the device. Scan history, favorites, and the product cache are stored locally.
